PLANTING: To plant the plugs, dig a hole that is 3 inches deep and 12-16 inches apart from each other. Firmly press the plug into the hole, ensuring that the space around the edge of the plug is filled. 🌱

WATERING: After planting, water the plugs thoroughly until they are well saturated. Continue watering them daily until they have rooted into your lawn. Once established, the watering needs will vary based on the type of soil present. It's best to mimic the environment by watering heavily every few days, rather than watering lightly every day. For sandier soils, 3/4 of an inch per watering will completely saturate the soil, with any excess water percolating through. For heavier clay soils, you can water up to 2 inches at a time before saturation is reached. Therefore, heavy soils should be watered heavily but less frequently (every 3-4 days), while sandy soils will need less water but more frequent watering (every 2-3 days). 🌱

MOWING: An established Classic lawn should be mowed every week during the growing season, maintaining an optimum mowing height of 2-4 inches. Classic St. Augustine has minimal thatch build-up, so it rarely requires dethatching. 🌱

TEXTURE: Classic St. Augustine has wide blades and dense foliage. 🌱

SOILS: It tolerates a relatively wide range of soil types and is best suited to well-drained, fertile soils. The ideal pH range is 6.7 to 7.5, but it can tolerate a pH from 5.8 to 8.5. 🌱

WEAR TOLERANCE: Classic St. Augustine has good recuperative qualities and is fairly wear-resistant.
